Lion Hinnrichs (*1988)
Growing up in Hamburg, Lion Hinnrichs began learning piano with Bernhard Fograscher when he was ten years old. After completing high school and his civil service duties, he studied with Konrad Elser in Lübeck and the Alban Berg Quartet in Cologne. Since 2013, Lion Hinnrichs is studying towards his Masters Degree at the University of the Arts, Berlin, with Pascal Devoyon.
Further musical influences to the young pianist habe been Gerald Fauth, Menahem Pressler, Konstanze Eickhorst and the Artemis Quartet. As a soloist and chamber musician, Lion Hinnrichs has been a multiple prizewinner at at the german competition Jugend Musiziert (youth makes music), as well as having received prizes at a number of other german and international competitions. His concert engagements have taken him around Europe, to Asia and Australia. Lion Hinnrichs appears regularly as a soloist in recitals, as a chamber musician and has numerously played as a soloist with orchestras. For many years he has received funding by Feldtmann Kulturell and Jehudi Menuhin’s Live Music Now program.
Lion Hinnrichs lives in Berlin. Beside his career in music, he is interested in sports and politics.
