„The young musicians are excellent in every sense!“
in every sense! (Günter Pichler, Alban Berg Quartet)

The Trio Adorno is considered one of the most exciting ensembles of its generation. Founded in 2003, trio playing has been the artistic passion of the three instrumentalists since they were young.

Since then, the Trio Adorno has dedicated itself to an aesthetic that combines the homogeneous sound of the two stringed instruments with that of the piano, without sacrificing the contrasts and tonal diversity of the individual instruments.

Since its formation, the trio has been awarded prizes at almost all renowned chamber music competitions, including the Deutschen Musikwettbewerb, the Osaka Chamber Music Competition, the Melbourne Chamber Music Competition, the Internationalen Johannes Brahms Wettbewerb and as a semi-finalist at the ARD Music Competition. In addition, the Trio Adorno has been included several times in the National selection of concerts by young artists by the German Music Council .

The Trio Adorno received its training from important figures in chamber music. The studies with the Beaux Arts Trio, the Artemis Quartet and her long-standing mentors from the Alban Berg Quartet were particularly formative.

Their repertoire covers the entire spectrum of piano trio literature, starting with works by Bach, through all the important trio composers of the Classical and Romantic eras, to world premieres by contemporary composers. Their concerts are regularly recorded live and broadcast on the radio (BR, SWR, MDR-Kultur, NDR-Kultur, Deutschlandfunk, ABC Australia and others).

The Trio Adorno, which celebrates its 20th stage anniversary this year, is a regular guest at international festivals such as the Festspielen Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspielen, the Oberstdorfer Musiksommer, the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival, as well as at concerts throughout Europe, North and Central America, Asia and Australia.

Her latest CD recording IN THE SHADOW ('A discovery' – Wiener Zeitung, ★★★★★ 5/5 – Kultura-Extra) with works by Mozart, Martinu and Mendelssohn was released in 2022 on the arcantus label.

Another pillar of her work is the worldwide engagement in youth work. Workshop concerts in schools and chamber music classes accompanying studies are just as important here as regular master classes.

Among other things, a tour with concerts and master classes in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Costa Rica was launched in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut .

Since 2022, the Trio Adorno has also been the artistic director of the chamber music series Freunde der Kammermusik Quickborn e.V.  , which has been organizing concerts in the best chamber music tradition for over 60 years.

The Trio Adorno  takes its name from the German music philosopher and great thinker of the 20th century Theodor W. Adorno.
