Christoph Callies was born in Hamburg in 1987 and started playing the violin at the age of 12. He completed his violin studies at the Musikhochschule Lübeck with Prof. Maria Egelhof with highest score. Further studies and courses with Günter Pichler, Heime Müller, Arnold Steinhardt, the Beaux Arts Trio, Trio Fontenay and the Artemis Quartet complete Christoph Callie's violin and chamber music training.
Christoph Callies has been giving concerts regularly in Germany and throughout Europe for many years, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician.

In addition to his artistic work, Christoph Callies has long been a well known teacher. Since 2013 he has had a teaching position at the "Musikhochschule Lübeck" in the form of an assistant to Prof. Maria Egelhof. Since the beginning of 2016, Christoph Callies has been teaching violin and chamber music in his own violin class at the "Kassel Music Academy". Another focus of his educational work is youth work. Many of his students are federal prize winners at "Jugend musiziert", he regularly gives workshops and master classes and is in demand as a juror at youth competitions.

He is a founding member of the Trio Adorno.
